Airport is a quick train ride away 30 mins?

I stayed in a smart flat not too far from centre &amp; bars.</p>

I'll search out a web site if tha wants.</p>

    Loads of budget hotels too.</p>

Not sure how far it is, but its a piece of piss to get to from the airport. Just jump on the train for a few euros, takes about 30 minutes.

Going in May so I'll let you know - booked into Hotel Atlanta which was recommended by one of our party that had been before.
Recommendation from one of the mates for a particularly good bar.

So I'll post on here when I've been

    We stayed here

    http://www.friscoinn.com/

NOY a palace by any stretch but cheap, central and less than 5 mins walk from the train station (bear in mind return train fare for 2 people = [img=http://www.redtenbacher.de/support/euro.gif]10 versus [img=http://www.redtenbacher.de/support/euro.gif]40 each way for taxis.

Not so good if you don't like late nights - dance music from LOUD disco in the bar downstairs on Saturdays until 1am. Also close to the RLD, without being in a seedy location.

Would go back but there may be better out there.

    Used to live in Amsterdam.

Well, just outside in Weesp.Small town just on the outskirts, very laid back, quiet and clean,  with good restaurants. </p>

    http://www.hartvanweesp.nl/ENG/Default.asp </p>

(thats a good hotel in Weesp, only ten mins from dam on train ..cost about two quid). </p>

    http://www.rgaros.nl/weesp/index.html</p>

Dam itself is very commercial, but caters for the lads weekend nicely,if you are after more of the culture  you will have to do a bit more research.</p>

I used to just go in at the w/end and spend most of the time in the Irish bars...Big screen footy,Sunday dinner,Decent pint, things you miss when away.</p>

You get quite alot of stains more often turks or other north African types trying to flog ya smack and the likes on the bridges, but if you go up and shout &quot;BUSH BUSH&quot; in their faces they normaly move on.[IMG]</p>

Watch for Pick pockets and bag snatchers, used to see them all the time and watch out for the push bikes, feking everywhere.</p>

Hotels are quite pricey, but cheaper if you book in advance and the whores are fairly cheap if you fancy that type of thing(Most of Europe do, its just britain that think its bad)Not bothered myself, although you can pick up some good material for a memory w*nk later...[IMG] </p>

Personally I prefer Hollands country side to the Dam in the north especially, but like I say, it can be a good laugh for a weekend and I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed. </p>
