Berlin is chuffing ace. Cheaper on the East side, I was there for a conference, not a piss up but loved the feel of the city, would deffo go back. Think it would be fine for a stag.

    Stick to the west part

The old east Berlin is still run down despite years of building work.

Some gang culture there but it is probably worse in parts of London these days. Don't go goose stepping around or making Nazi type remarks or you'll get either locked up or beaten up.

You'll be OK there are far worse places.

Only been about 4 times and can't really remember. But most young people around here (Hamburg) say it is a top night out. Get thisen off.

    Stick to the east side

Actually I find it difficult to tell east from west now. But think west is probably most run down as the east has had so much new build on it.
For me a real high light is the soviet war memorial (or grave of the unknown rapist as its known in the west)

    Right, that's it!

I'm leaving the board now. Wanton disagreement with me, makes me feel so small I just can't take any more.

    Bye.

Anyway I was there a few weeks ago and the east side still looks like a giant building site. So nerrrrrr!

    Fantastic place

Went twice last year, stayed in East once and West once. Both bits were pretty good but the East has a better feel to it.

On the east side I stayed in the Park Hotel at Alexanderplatz and on the West I stayed at Hotel Transit (v. cheap and no frills) would highly recommend either as good value.
