Yup - really nice city, top people. On a night get towards Grafton St - that's where the locals drink, much smarter than Temple Bar area.
don't bother going......the ale prices are ludicrous..........and it's full of bloody irish too! On a another note, don't go drinking on the wrong side of the river cos they don't like the english....seriously. it's ok but nowt special hth you decide not to go....spend ure money in tarn on John smiths smooth
I went a couple of years ago with work but we got some free time and it was great. The night life was very good and the Guiness does taste better over there.
we was gonna booked in one hotel and comments on internet saying was in a ruff area so booked somewhere decent just on out skirts but will be carefull where we go, cheers for heads up
Different type of yeast used in Ireland creates the smoother creamier taste. So they told me when I was over there earlier this year. Got to agree, it is better.
It's a fantastic place - very friendly, amazing night life. Temple Bar is great for live music but I would agree that Grafton Street and also O'Connell street are fantastic. We walked all around the city (lost on one or two occasions on the way back to the hotel) and I never saw anything to worry me. It's utter rubbish that they don't like the English - I go to the Rep of Ireland every year and the people are very friendly. Tbh, the only place I have ever had a problem being English was on a couple of occasions in Wales and that was just because we dropped on morons that exist everywhere. Have a great time pal.
Been a few times and gone to pubs on both sides of the river, never had a problem. There's a great brewpub down by the river, can't remember the name of it though.
