Unfortunately Yes! Only for football but can honestly say it is not the fun spot of Europe.

LDRED would be the man to ask. He lives nearby.

I've never been to Hamilton in my life :D

Whereabouts are you staying? I'd recommend taking a short taxi journey over to Bothwell, 2 miles away, for decent bars. There's a few half decent ones in Hamilton and a few to avoid!

I know where you mean, if you come out of the hotel and turn right then cross over you'll find Bar West, Academical Vaults and The Tap Room. First two are old mens boozers, while Tap Room is quite lively and usually fully of lovely women!

I was up there two years ago with work. I spent a day in Motherwell, then a day in Paisley, then a day in Hamilton. The experience will never leave me so make of that what you will.

Paisley and Motherwell aren't the nicest places! Motherwell Main Street is like something out of Shaun of the Dead.

    Hamilton is alright though :D

Bothwell is where most footballers live, some nice bars up there if that's what you're in to. Plus Hamilton has the racecourse, which my flat looks over on to.

I normally frequent The Bay Horse or the ML3 bar because they're within stumbling distance of the front door. ML3 serve Peroni on tap which is the only reason I'm ever in there.

If you think Barnsley has too many bars, wait until you visit Hamilton.

Errr, just avoid the Hamilton Palace nightclub and the bars around there and you'll be fine!

I certainly rode my luck, particularly in Paisley when a lad I was with asked the barman if he would put the England game on.

No he very politely explained that the rest of the clientele would not be too pleased if he did. The problem was that one of the ‘clientele’ overheard and decided to take exception at the request and proceeded to cause a bit of a scene. I can't remember who it was against.
