Trying to get tickets for Steve Coogan. They all seem to be sold out but I can get hold of a couple for the Apollo in the stalls.
Just wondering if it's a decent venue to watch comedy or should I avoid?

There's no reason why you should avoid it

I saw Jimmy Carr in Apollo last year but granted was in circle. If right at back I'd think twice. Seeing Coogan in Sheff next month.

    Right cheers all...

That's the kind if info I was after. The price for stalls tickets looks fairly reasonable and cheaper than Sheffield so I think I'll go for it.

    It's pretty good

Not too big, not too small. Though if I were you I'd come on the train or leave your car somewhere very secure because the area around the Apollo is an A grade sh*hole.

    RE: It's pretty good

There are some secure car parks, one of them is directly across the main road - IIRC, they state that the security staff remain in the car park throughout the event - certainly they were still there to marshall the traffic away when we came out , and it was very efficient.

As said by Manc Tyke though, I would use the secure facilities as it is dog rough round there. Last time we went it was on the news the following day that some local had got shot in the adjoining street, about an hour after we left (casualty)
