Anyone care to explain this Mark Stokes/Barnsley Magazine situation?

Started the magazine. Can't comment on the quality, I never saw a copy.</p>

Claimed to be completely independent from the club. But slagged howard off, week before his transfer. Davey said he was employed by club, when he was looking after Reuben NL. </p>

Took subscriptions but then folded pretty quickly. Still owes lots of the people their money back.</p>

Started a new website and trying to take subscriptions again, and still claims to be independent. Website includes copyrighted fixtures which he says he's paid for, and also includes all same photos as official website.</p>

As long as subscribers get their money, my only problem is the claims to be independent. When at the very least it is looked favourably on by Oakwell, and get preferential treatment to other media/websites. We all know the clubs line on the internet... worst thing ever invented, will only reply to people with a postal address etc. But suddenly an 'independent' website gets all their support, while this place is just treated with suspicion. + His total avoiding of the question of what funding he/magazine/website gets from the club. If things were answered without dodging questions I think things would just quieten down, but while he seems to be dodging questions it looks bad.</p>

Having said that, some of the abuse is getting personal and silly.
