Aye Started from Horton on a Friday tea time. Got back to Horton, via Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough Hill and Whernside, on Sunday evening. Reyt week-end it was. I suspect, however, that is not exactly what you meant.
RE: 5 times now Do it every year for Macmillan Cancer, next one is 26th June.
Only once have I hated doing it, totally hammered it down for 10 of the 12 hours........... On a decent day it is very enjoyable.
Best time we done it in is 8 hours 37 minutes.

good man-the fell runners do it in 2 1/2 hours !!!........................ http://www.3peakswalks.co.uk/walks/yorkshire/
Doing it on the 23rd of this month. Stopping in a bunk barn the night before and the night after, should be a good laugh!
It's a great walk, we did it twice in 24hrs for charity few years ago The last 5 miles from the top of Inglebrough seems to go on for ever. Do they still have the clock in-out system at the cafe, nice souvenir that.
Did it in 9 hours in the 70s I worked for Yorkshire Traction at Barnsley Depot. Garage staff and drivers had a walking group and we did the 3 Peaks and the Lyke Wake twice before I left. I thought the 3 Peaks were the harder of thne two.
I've done it twice... ... first time when I was in my teens. I did it in borrowed ill fitting boots. I also didn't realise that it was not a good idea to have a pint at the two pubs on the circuit. When we were going up penyghent it was blowing a gale and a couple of us had what I think was exposure... some of us had to be talked up to the top and off by some of the senior members.
When I was 22 I had another go, I had learnt my lesson regarding alcohol and did the walk in the opposite way. The only trouble I had was right at the end when one of my knees locked.
It's 28 years since last I did it and although I now do quite a bit of fellwalking particularly in the lake district I've never felt the desire to do the peaks again.
To me it's a trudge and a long wet boggy one at that... although I understand there has been significant improvement to the paths in recent years.
Having said that I'm glad I did it just so I can say I have.

Im doing it end of June For Macmillan Cancer Trust, if anyone has two quid spare then please click the link:
www.justgiving.com/chrisandbeth
