had mine returned twice, say the photo doesnt show my eyes clearly enough and shadows round my ears, these have been professionally taken as well, really pissing me off, could have got a knocked up one easier :)

    Never had a problem

and always just use the photo booths. The lights in them prevent shadows.

    Apparently

our local place that used to take them has stopped as the rules are now so complex about what is acceptable.

I had to have some new photos taken for a bus pass but the photos wouldn't have been allowed for a passport as

I had my glasses on and my fringe was a little over the my eyes. - need to be able to see eyes

had my head slightly tilted - needs to be completely straight in the centre of the frame

The photos are scanned onto passports now so eyes need to be seen clearly.

    RE: Apparently

My passport photos from 10 years ago I have glasses on and a rather fetching Goatee along with a full head of hair.

I now look nothing like my photo , which is annoying especially when going to the USA who arent overly keen on you not looking like your passport photo.

    As mum says

without glasses on and my hair pulled away from my faces the photo wouldn't really look like me.

"passport office told me not to use booths"

    Strange advice!

Main post offices usually have them.
