Yes, and he got a round of 'one greedy bast*rd' from the ponty ..

.... for his trouble, I didn't like the fact that he left to join the blunts but I can't slag him off like that, he was a top player for us and always seems like a decent bloke when I've spoke to him in tarn

I would. Think hes a good player and we all make mistakes! Always spoke with high regard about us. From what ive heard, hes not keen on blackwell or the blades fans.

End of day he went for more money and his views that Sheff U would challenge the top end of table. Safe to say that backfired! Blackwell played the type of football that Howard couldn't get involved in, hence fans turned on Howard because he didn't do much. Maybe Howard now realises that the grass isn't always greener!

Saying that I would have him back

I reckon if he came back he might actually be a better player for it, cos he'd have to work damn hard to win over the majority of the fans.

    Could be win win.

He left a relegation battling team to join a promotion chasing team for more money. Most people would have done the same and he was 90 minutes from being a premiership player so it nearly paid off. He loves the town and I wish him all the best at Reading.

He reads this board sometimes and think he would be chuffed that hes not hated. Still to engineer a move back would be really difficult unless he has a creative agent!

Honestly dont get why he got so much stick

he had stagnated here at the time and was struggling for form which was getting him a bit a bit of stick, he then got an offer of a maove for more money to a club in a better position than us that had a realistic chance of promotion. How many of the gobby feckers giving him stick would turn down the offer of more money in a new job that seemed better than their existing one?Thats life

I wouldn't. I think we've moved on and have a better midfield. Half the time we seemed to struggle to accomodate him and for what? One good game in every half dozen at best. Had some inspirational moments and would shake his hand and thank him for those, but not enough to disrupt the balance of the team again.

he isnt coming back, hes on 10k plus at reading and rodgers rates him highly, reading fans must be glad he found time to work for sky last night, with them in such scintillating 22nd place form its good to know they are only thinking about the job in hand

I spoke to him about 2 weeks before he left and i asked him if he was going. He looked me dead in the eye and said no.

IMO he thought he was bigger than the club. I like how he's now at a club who look like potential relegation candidates.

He went for the money and glory. We'd all honestly do it given the chance.

I was unhappy at the time but would love to have him back.
