Sometimes it seems to me like they focus on one player & hammer them, when you could pick any other player on the pitch. I love football, I love watching the highlights, but the analysis drives me crackers. It's almost as if they're talking to justify their presence rather than having anything of any value to say.
mos tof what they say wek in week out, for me MOTD had slowly did a death with pundits who are full of thier own self importance rather than concentrating on what made the programme what it was, good solid highlights with consistantly fair pundits rather than what you have today.
Not talking specifically about tonight... but every week when we watch MOTD/ 2 we comment that the analysis is longer than the game they show; and some of the stuff they talk about focussing in on particular players you just know is just crap. I have no idea how David Wheater played for Middlesboro today for example, but the defending disasters Alan Hansen was picking on tonight is something you would see 4 or 5 times in a game - when a player gets wrong footed. Not exclusive to David Wheater.
Fair comments I suppose from both D/T and fired. I personally thought the comments on Wheater were fair tonight, bearing in mind he's a highly thought of decent defender in premier league. MOTD 2 is analysis is ****, I admit, but I do think MOTD with Hansen and Lawrensen is decent for TV llicence £price per year, compared to £stupid per month for sky etc!!
