Im just reading inbetween the lines of this bit:

    Finally

The Board continues to look at opportunities to obtain additional funding for the development of the club and we do receive enquiries from time to time about whether we would be prepared to sell the club.To-date, examination of these approaches has failed to show the financial substance that Barnsley FC needs to be positioned better than it is at present. The position of the Board has always been that it will consider any offers that can improve the financial resources of Barnsley FC.Fans are aware that Patrick Cryne has underwritten the financial recovery of the club in the aftermath of the exit from administration.Patrick has indicated that he has every confidence in, and will continue to back, the Chairman and his management team and will follow Gordon's advice on whether new ownership in the future is in the best interests of Barnsley FC.

    given the news about...............

Southampton being a target for investors-as a cheap way into the Premiership without having to buy an existing team-I guess all Championship clubs are looking to be the lucky recipient of external investment-it sure is going to get harder and harder to stay in this division if other clubs get significant investment and we don't

    Seem to recall last Spring

There was gossip from people , claiming to be 'in the know' , that there'd be a number of wealthy investors willing to pump millions into the club , if we were to win promotion . I wonder if these are the *Sean Lewis-type individuals mentioned in the club statement ?

*People with an inabililty to show the required financial substance .

    not strictly... but

what I did think was, that they will do all they can in the interests of the club....

if that means a valid and sustainable prospective new owner came to the forefront, they would look at it in the interest of the club (after all they are fans just like us, but have some dosh and are currently running it)

If that means that no-one wants to invest, they will continue as they are...

can't directly see how that says

Come and buy me, I am for sale....

I wouldn't read too much into this and certainly not make it as gospel, we all know how these things can get out of control...

with all the abuse that MrCryne and MrShepard have had to take over the passed few seasons I`m amazed that they are still here,I know if I`d been in their position I`d have told cetain people where to stick it.When you look at it what they have done and achieved for the club it is a near miracle........
