Amazing that there needs to be 42 steps on that guide though, if it was a regular PC laptop there'd be one or two screws to remove from an access panel and that's it!
The computers a write-off, I just want the HD out for the data. I will try firewire transfer first. You think that looks easy but I can assure you it isn't. It takes an expert ages to get into one and you need specialist tools. Apple design these things so you have to use their engineers to fix them.
