Indeed I did Did you go? A truly fantastic evening. I was almost at the front and ready for passing out. I think that is the hottest I have EVER been a concert! The refectory building was not at all what I was expecting - very long and narrow. I didn't take my minidisc recorder, because they said the show would be available from www.themusic.com However, it seems there are no current plans to make the recording available. Sham. Stephen
There's the Leeds Wireless Festival this weekend http://www.virtual-festivals.com/festivals/festival.cfm?festivalid=384
were they at the Uni, i used to be a steward there only missed one gig in 21/2 years, motorhead, when they had a hardcore hells angels following, didnt really fancy telling them, no, youcant go there, do that
RE: were they at the Uni, i used to be a steward there I saw Motorhead at the Uni. Yes....surprised you somehow missed reference to it - The Who were playing at the Uni last night to kick off their tour. Daltrey looks in good nick for 62.
RE: Live at Leeds revisited then Yes - they were asked to unveil a plaque commemorating "Live at Leeds" and from that came they idea to do the gig. A couple of guys at work went. The Motorhead gig at Leeds Uni I went to was on the "Another Perfect Day" tour so around 1983
Exactly They didn't attempt to duplicate the set list though. It was was just a warmup show for the current tour. I was extremely lucky to get a ticket from a guy at work. The touts were asking £125 outside (but they didn't seem to be shifting many).
