Well done. Don't let all the hype in the papers about grade inflation spoil your day To everyone else. of course if we had done ours this year we would have got the same, because they were so much harder in the old days
Not having taken one recently I don't know if they're easier. But the dog passed five and reckons they were!
P.S. I know it's not funny Dyson, but hey-ho.

Grade inflation... ...aren't they introducing the A* grade into A levels this year? Rather than just giving out less A grades (wouldn't want to do that) and failing some (ooooh no you can't 'fail' someone)? But genuinely - congratulations to anyone celebrating exams today - stick at it and make it worth your while.
I understand that (from a friend who is a secondary school maths teacher) that the kids who get the most attention these days are the kids who are getting D grades who they might be able to coach into C grades. Kids who could get A grades or A* grades don't get fussed about. Kids who are on B grades can just sit and teach themselves. It's all about how many kids get 5 C grades or something. I'm sure a teacher on here will be able to correct me. That's if they can be bothered - what with the fact that they're on a six week holiday and that... (fishin) "Oh yes but I've got mi' marking to do..." (fishin) Come on I'm ready for it...
I think that's pretty much how they're told to operate. My middle ones offto a grammar school so I'll let you know if there's a difference there.
And, by the way, the wifes a teacher and she'll be round to give you a slap later.

Then its A** the year after and A*** the year after that not that I am bitter about by handful of Cs when my kids got 100s of As
Having taken GCSE's last year... I would say that's pretty accurate if you are not divided into groups by grades. Huge emphasis on C or above so when you're pretty much guarenteed to get better than that there is no incentive to try and push for higher grades.
My brother's got his today he got much higher than expected, got 9.5 (dunno what the 0.5 is) he's reight chuffed, and he'll tell you they aren't getting any easier. Ant sin him tbh, he went to his mates, then to gym and then he's going to China Moon . He got an A in sport, that makes him more qualified than Simon Davey
I might be cynical but having marked degree level work I can honestly say that of the work I've seen, about 80% of the students would not have got an O level Grade C in English under the old system. Just an opinion, but some of the written work is truly shocking.
well it's PE, theres more to it than just playing it, theres an exam bout Parts of the body, and respiratory system and all that sort of thing. I'm afraid there int one for watching
Daughter chose her GCSE options over the summer. Gone for all traditional subjects, inc 2 languages & 3 sciences. Teachers tried to persuade her to go for some other subjects which, I guess, would have been much easier options.
