Thinking about it, and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on it, either way. Seems a bit steep to have to pay £75 to replace my existing box, unless I agree to move the old one to another room (and then pay £5 per month extra for that). Basic rent for the TV Drive box would be £15 for me as I have the Essential tv package. Question: does the box have an output socket to allow me to download saved programs from the hard drive to a dvd recorder? Any help/advice/opinions welcomed
There'll probably be a scart socket for you to connect to the DVD recorder, that's the case on the Sky+ box
I usualy terminate my contract every 12 months or so, swapping names between mine and wifes. I n that way I get all the special offers that are available to new customers only. Dont know whether that would mean you got the new box for nowt tho
RE: What special offers? nt I'm not saying there are any at the moment, but they piss me off at times because the make good deals for new customers, while giving the loyal customers,( Ive been with them 10 years) nothing. So I just cancel my contract. The daft part is they will come and take all their equipment out one day, then come back the next with all new stuff
Same with anything Stick with a company and they take it for granted and you get no deals. Same happens with Sky - been with them for about 15 years
RE: No... "We have a son, I thought you said you took precautions" "I took the precaution of marrying the most repulsive woman in Swansea - what more can a man do?"
Good idea - I might try that! Seems outrageous to charge a monthly rental of £15 PLUS £75 installation on top, and when I queried the charge this morning they said it was to cover the cost of "an expensive piece of equipment". Hm, right! But if I were a new customer they would give it to me for nothing - bizarre! I only switched to telewest last year cos I couldn't get broadband any other way (ie through the phone line) so I had to go to the monopoly supplier, Telewest. I took the combined tv/phone and broadband package at first but have dropped the broadband now as my computer is not in Gloucester any more, but here in Buckinghamshire.
Hehe. "It's home cooking Denzil." "Let's see what part of the home it tastes like, shall we? Ah, the living room carpet..."
