I'm looking for somewhere to send it to repair the ring of death. Only a month out of the 3 year warranty. TIA
You can do it yourself... If it's just the basic RROD problem. I've done a few over the years, they're not that hard to fix. Just search on eBay for RROD repair and they sell kits you can fit yourself. Something like this is what your after: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XCLAMP-KI...s_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item2ebadd57cc
Re: You can do it yourself... Are you sure it's out of warranty? I'd still phone Microsoft as they're records tend to be a bit out. Mine was a few month. They don't ask for proof of purchase, so you may be able to blah it.
JMR Ltd... Try this place http://www.jmrltd.co.uk/#!games-console-repairs, really nice kid called Jamie, he's just flashed mine to LT3.0. It's up Huddersfield Road opposite Motorspares and Pets for Vets
The kits only fix the problem for a while. You may get another month, you may get a year (I've done quite a few). A proper fix is to have it re-balled but for this you meet specialist kit so you'd have to send it off to someone. Think that cost £40-£60. Similar to here (example not recommendation) http://www.consolewizard.co.uk/xbox360reballservice.html Personally, I'd try DIY with a kit and keep a look out for cheap new replacement. £100-£110
Any luck with this? Recently i've been getting a three quarter red circle of death with the final quarter flashing green. I have the original xbox 360 with the one usb connection. When this circle appears the screen just freezes, l usually switch it off at the mains and leave it for a while and then it works for a few days before doing it again. Any ideas? for the price of just an xbox console l was just going to buy another but if there's a cheaper fix and if the kits are okay then l'll go with them.
http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=htt...QFphHgaAQHERmOgXXKNcsb0xnQkHSZs473Xd2ExJe9Q0Q or gbcomputerservices.co.uk local and cheap will fix it for you think they had an offer on only a tenner pal gi em a try
why pay a tenner when all you need is 8 machine screws/bolts.16 nylon washers. a tube a thermal paste. and the wifes/girlfriends nail vanish remover to clean up the cpu s its extremly easy in the past ive bought xboxes of ebay for a tenner repaired them and sold them again for upwards of £60
