Re: we will be in 3 That means it's going backwards. I think we should apply or whatever to be in at least 2.
hemmsy read this from the link i posted the other day The top two categories will have a minimum of 17 full-time staff and will be beyond the reach of most Football League clubs, who will have category three or four status. Most will end up in category three - and it is here that there is a major sticking point. if you think we will have 17 full time staff for the academy you're deluded. we will be cat 3 and get the cast offs. the academy as we know it in this country has just died.
Re: hemmsy read this from the link i posted the other day How many age groups does that cover ryhilltyke?
Re: hemmsy read this from the link i posted the other day honestly don't know mate, you watch how quick the premier league clubs pitch up nearby. the governing body wants more english players to come through, but they only want them at big clubs, fecking disgrace
if thats from age 10 i think yes barnsley have that number of coaches or could get the extra coaches but if thats full time u18 coaches no but manchester united dont have that many. only real madrid have thay many in europe so that makes me think its from the start. also barnsley are starting them pre classes up for u8s.
can't agree , no way will we have now or in the future 17 full time academy staff not with the lack of money we have.
Re: quite a few there hemmsy, but doesn't say how many are full time coaches someone mentioned cast offs earlier in the thread and thats all we will be left with..... and of course we might miss out but its not all bad..... Jacob Butterfield , cast off by man utd, not wanted by fulham and blackburn
These are purely guesses based on how busy I suspect the various people to be Ronnie Branson - Academy Manager / Under 18s Coach - Full Time Mark Burton - Assistant Academy Manager / Under 15s Coach / Under 16s Coach, Under 18s Coach - Full Time Tony Warden - Education Officer - Full Time Ian Farmery - Academy Physiotherapist - Full Time Shaun Selby - Recruitment Officer - Full Time Nathan Winder - Sports Scientist - Full Time Scott Rogan - Technical Development Officer - Full Time John Almond - Matchday Co-Ordinator - Part Time Nick Colgan - Goalkeeping Coach - Part Time John Smith - Goalkeeping Coach - Full Time Dr David Warriner - Academy Paramedic - Part Time Scott Rogan - Under 8s Coach - Part Time Gary Walsh - Under 8s Coach - Part Time James Mahoney - Under 9s Coach - Part Time Chris Dolby - Under 9s Coach - Part Time Daryl Pugh - Under 10s Coach - Part Time Neil Jones - Under 10s Coach - Part Time Rory Piper - Under 11s Coach - Part Time Don cotton - Under 11s Coach - Part Time Vinnie Brocki - Under 12s Coach - Part Time Andrew Skiffington - Under 12s Coach - Part Time Mark Tinker - Under 13s Coach - Part Time Craig Laight - Under 13s Coach - Part Time Ian Clark - Under 14s Coach - Part Time Paul Heckingbottom - Under 14s Coach - Part Time Steve Morfitt - Under 15s Coach / Under 16s Coach - Full Time Simon Brookes - Under 15s Coach / Under 16s Coach - Full Time Wayne Bullimore - Academy Coach - Full Time Ashley Royston - Academy Coach - Full Time Total x 29 Full Time x 12 Part Time x 17
how much would i cost extra do you think st? make 5 extra full time 100 grand? would be worth it for me. easy to spend some one elses money.
It depends on what the rules actually state I guess because if they simply state that you must have 17 full time members of staff then an academy could be run at a (coaching/staffing) cost of just over £100k a year but if the rules state that the members have staff have to be full time COACHES with certain qualifications etc then the cost could be much higher. As you say its very easy to spend someone elses money but I don't think it would cost a lot of money to turn Barnsley's academy into one of the best in the country and we could easily aim for the top category if we decided to go down that route. I think it would really pay off in the long run but I doubt that PC and the club would go for it.
The barnsleys the crewes the watfords and so forth are ****ed. Its irrelevant how much barnsley pay out for theirs as they will not be cake to compete with the big fish.. The quicker you wake up and realise the premier league doesn't care for anything outside of its own delusions of grandour greed and its own self interests the better. The premier league was established so clubs could feather their nests financially. Shame the FA and anyone else in the footballing pyramids of power have any balls. Football in England is dying. A slow painful death.
It's the League 2 and League 1 teams whose academies are screwed because the Championship teams will pick up their players cheap.
Get real guys with the staffing levels !!! The academy has 3 full time staff, RB MB n a physio !!! Man City r just goin towards 40 sumthing full time staff n Liverpool spend more on their first team than Barnsley spend on their first team. Puts things in perspctve
Do they have to be full-time coaches, or full-time *equivalent* coaches? If FTE, then 2 (or more depending on hours worked) part-time coaches could qualify as one coach for the 17...
