Clearly no love lost between him and Flitcroft. Being appointed manager was "...it was a step too far for David" and "...he's shown what he's capable of..."

Ouch! Think he's probably right though.

Keeping us up was not the only thing Flicker achieved during his time in charge - he was also responsible for the Don's overdue retirement.

Not heard it, but if true then that is disrespectful.

Flicker earned a contract on the back of last season's heroics......but he messed it up this season.

Can't blame him, Flitcroft has stuck the boot in enough.

He went on to say that he felt the success last season was based upon a 'siege mentality' and couldn't be repeated. To be fair, Rowing is not the first to suggest such a thing !!

Allegedly he wanted to sack Hill/ Flitcroft at the end of 2011/12 season.

Was he not right all along?

Maybe the siege mentality was correct......so if it worked, then why not continue this style?

Agree. If anyone was disrespectful it was Flicker who led the way. Some of the digs he made in the summer I thought were well were out of order. Can't blame Rowing for having a dig back in my opinion.

All tittle tattle. Don's due a dig, fair play. But at the time, there were very few against Rowing going and Flicker staying.

In fairness to Flitcroft given that Rowing sold Vaz Te against their wishes, wanted him and Hill sacked in the summer of 2012, went on to start publicly undermining Hill and Flitcroft in the November, and then offered someone else the job over Flitcroft and had to back down after the Leeds game, I think he has plenty of reasons to dislike Rowing.

Although I didn't hear what Flitcroft said about Rowing in the summer, and either way he'd have been better to hold his counsel.

To be fair Andy, there's only one fella who sells players and offers jobs about. That's not Don.

We know he didn't want Keith/Flitcroft but the 'board' did. And it wasn't Rowing that spoke to Hignett. Allegedly and that.

I know I'm an old fashioned Victor Meldrew

But I'd much prefer the club not to air it's dirty laundry in public. If any individual has an issue with someone else, sort it out face to face behind closed doors. There's isn't any need for public, snidey, point scoring and it achieves nothing. It doesn't do the club, or anyone (staff, players, player's friends & family) any credit.

To be honest I had no opinion either way about Don Rowing. Not seen enough of the new incumbent either to have an opinion. To me it's more about players and tactics than anything else.

Fair point, but it was him who wanted them sacked in the summer of 2012 and started to change the club's line and muddy the waters on the budget differences between Robins and Hill to deflect criticism of the break even plan. Although I accept he may have been working to orders.

I think he never wanted them in the first place. No doubt there was never any love lost either.

Flicker didn't like Don very much, told me once he hated coming into work and seeing him.

I'm not sure it is disrespectful, its just an opinion that Don gave. It seems that he was right.
