so we may vbe saved by an admin points deduction yet again wonder what team will save us next season then.
I can't see it happening with only a few games to go. That way, if they would have finished in the bottom 3 anyway they would get deducted the 10 points next season in League One. If they are going to go into administration they would either do it if they are confident of finishing more than 10 points above relegation (they won't) or they will wait until the summer. Linking this to the thread about parachute payments though, if Blackburn admit they are in financial trouble when they spent £12m of their parachute payments on 1 player the whole system needs looking at. How they can develop a situation whereby teams getting relegated get £60m to blow and don't impose any conditions on how the clubs spend it is farcical. They may as well do away with the rest of the league and just select the 32 clubs they want to save, because that is more or less what they are doing. With the money that gets thrown to teams once they get promoted to the Premiership and the money they continue to throw at them even after they get relegated, no team has any excuse for getting themselves into financial trouble. At one point a few years ago Portsmouth had one of the top 6 highest paid players in the world and he was an injury prone centre back in his mid-30s. Should just not have been allowed. Everybody talks about how FIFA think they are a world power, but the Premier League is just as bad. Shocking.
Exactly. No chairman and his board would do this unless they were a set of total nut-jacks who didn't have a clue about football. Hang on a minute...
Re: will one go into admin then in response to Gordon. the way the premier league is going. Its going to make the clubs in leagues 1 and 2 to become part time as they wont be able to afford full time staff. It may take several years but if things carry on England will only have 2 professional leagues, all the others been semi pro. And thus the demise of English football as we know it.
this could also be a means to an end not only to make league 1 & 2 semi pro, but perhaps even regional too. League one may escape semi pro and regional but league 2 and the conference may well go semi pro and regional.
They've blown a fortune this season. Sacked three managers. Berg got paid up his entire contract... £8m on Rhodes. Plus best part of 30k a week to keep him in chicken. And then there's venkeys cut... It's tight but admin? Not while thy still have disposable assets.
