The only problem today is we didnt finish our chances and their keeper played a blinder. and folk you moaning all the time.
I think he did acknowledge the problems Essentially, Rigters & Cureton missed open goals and Southampton got one chance and scored.
we had 10 chances, rigters scores them every day at training butterfield is good but only young ( grimsby monday anyone?) i would have said rigters is going back on monday because he can't get fit and isn't interested
they werent the only problems today the problems today were that simon davey picked the wrong starting 11 and wrong formation and completely failed to change it when it was obvious to 11,000 barnsley fans that it wasnt working, instead he opted for 2 like for like substitutions. The problems that led to today were that simon davey has built a squad that has no strength in depth, is totally unbalanced both in terms of too many right sided players and not enough left and also in terms of too many strikers and no cover in other positions
Yeah, I know what you mean I think it took SD far too long, but he HAS been critical of Kayode recently. Rigters hasn't had anywhere near as many opportunities, but I agree that SD needs to recognise that he isn't the answer either. SD did say that a signing would be made on Wednesday of next week, and I'd be surprised if that wasn't a forward player...
I don't think we can afford strength in depth We just haven't got the budget for two championship standard players for every position. He does have some options available to him (for certain positions), but not everywhere on the pitch.
yet at times we've had 3 strikers on the pitch 4 on the bench and still some not made the first 16. With the amount of players we've got davey could have had adequate cover in all positions instead of signing go knows how many strikers and right backs (kozluk, hassell, van homoet and so i am repeatedly told, foster)
