Who did not engage in any disorder. May I suggest that you copy and paste the following and send it to info@millwallsupportersclub.co.uk I write seeking a formal retraction and apology from your supporters club and your chairman and spokesman Bob Asprey for his lies and defamatory comments regarding the false allegations he has publicly made on behalf of your supporters club in relation to the disgusting events that took place at Wembley at the hands of a large minority of your 'supporters'. In public statements on behalf of your supporters club he has made the false and defamatory allegation that "There were no Barnsley fans in the top tier until after half-time. And when they started arriving, they began throwing bottles and other missiles". This defamatory statements is totally false and can be proven to be false by looking at photographic and video evidence clearly showing that the top tier did indeed have Barnsley fans in it in the first half, including myself, funnily enough due to having purchased tickets for that area. You will not find one shred of video or photographic evidence to show me throwing anything at all be it a bottle, missile or anything else. His (yours by attribution) fictitious claim that I only entered the top tier after half time and was throwing missiles (as is the implication of the comments) harms my character as a decent human being and as such should an apology and retraction not be made immediately I will be forced, as advised, to take legal action against Bob Asprey and the Millwall supporters club as an organisation in order to clear my good name. I expect an immediate response to this most serious defamation of character.
I will pass this on to a bloke I know who went with his wife and three kids and were all sat in the aforementioned tier and who definitely took up their seats before the kick off in the first half and definitely were not goading or throwing bottles at the Millwall fans.
You've probably already seen this but if not there is a bit more reaction included http://www.southlondon-today.co.uk/article.cfm?id=118346
I'd also copy it to Millwall football club as well. As he is there supporters club chairman he directly represents them and indirectly implicates them. questions@millwallplc.com
Waste of time. I emailed a complaint to Millwall on the night of the game. I received a reply saying it had been passed to the COMMERCIAL director for 'his opinion'. After not receiving any further reply till a couple of days ago i re-emailed them complaining at the delay and was told that he's on holiday because there is limited time he can go on holiday. Because the commercial guy having a week in file during the season will cause them to lose all their games obviously. I would have thought the commercial guy would be busiest now getting sponsorship and advertising etc for the new season but no apparently it's his quiet time. The cowards
I wasn't in the upper tier, it was just something i wrote for anyone else to send. And it's better than Mr C anyway. You sound like a **** Mrx tribute act
I wasn't up there, but i've tweeted Mr Aspey asking where he gets this idea from, and if he cant provide proof, then he needs to retract the statement. Not holding my breath though...
I was in upper tier, block 501 and have video evidence I was even before match started.Emailed em so will post if I get a reply
Ya can plainly tell just b4 hammills goal there's barnsley fans in upper tier just checked it whilst watching match again
btt Let's keep it there. Every club has some wnakers. That's not necessarily the fault of the club these wnakers support. With Millwall it clearly is because they're lying to defend the hooligans and that's unacceptable. They need hitting with fines and a points deduction for this. Not for the way those dickheads acted, but for going out of their way to defend them. It's ******* outrageous.
The really interesting part of the article was.. ''The club looks likely to escape any fine or ban as a direct result of the clashes - because the FA, who would impose any sanctions, are responsible for stewarding of games at Wembley. '' Implying that the stewarding was at fault and therefore the FA won't sanction...from what Ive read the stewarding was first class , that needs pointing out to the FA.
