Just wondered like, sharing petrol. Might encourage me to buy a ticket. I'd be doing what I did twice before.... parking up at Canons Park and getting the tube to Wembley.
For our Johnstone Paints Final at Wembley, we parked on the drive of a local homeowner. We had no problem getting to the house or getting back to the M1 after the game. It was a very quiet street about a ten minute walk from the Stadium. It cost us £20 ( £4 quid each). The property had CCTV and the homeowner assured us, he would keep his eye on our car until we returned. There are literally hundreds of spaces available. Much easier to get out after, heard of so many delays out of Stanmore. I was back on the A1 ten minutes after leaving Canons. But we're not taking 20,000 this time so should be even better at both places.
I'm thinking of going i live in Grimsby and was in 2 minds if to drive to get on one of the buses from the ground.
Stanmore is a nightmare. Canon Park is easier to access and leave from. As others have said, paying for parking on a local driveway near the station is good value.
Just to let you know.... my wife persuaded me to go by coach from Barnsley to save driving down through London traffic and back in the dark ! It's also cheaper for me to do it this way. So I've booked a bus seat.
