    Got a leak on the boiler so no heating or hot water and can't seem to get anyone to come out to it from yelow pages

    Can you get one of those collars

    that you screw tight onto it? Can't remember if its a "union" clip or a "jubilee" clip or something like that! I only suggest that because when I was little I threw a dart that pierced a central heating pipe and one of our neighbours put one on it as a temporary measure until we could get the pipe replaced.

    Ta for the idea, but it seems to be some kind of valve fitting that's leaking from a screw, so can't get owt like it.

    Looks like a cold evening ahead (N) plumber coming sometime tomorrow
