You sure you've got your ADSL filter connected to your phone connection line?

All sockets other than your ADSL modem socket needs an ADSL Filter to split the data and voice signals.

Or if you only have one phone socket in your house, this needs a spliter/filter like below

Have u got them on a micro filter, if so change it/them, we have problems with some of our external clients and need to put new ones on. They also don't run well on telephone extension cables so if u've got any of them take em out. Quick test to make sure line is ok is to plug your telephone straight into socket and listen for a faint hiss on the line this is your broadband. If your filters not working then it can't filter the hiss out for the phone part.

    Yep

I've done all the usual stuff. There's a filter on the line. The phone works fine. The broadband works fine (and is fast). But as soon as I plug both in, the phone goes dead. I've changed the filter and its the same- proper foxed my broadband techies, they ain't got a clue.

Changed the filter, same probs unfortunately

Unless both are buggered. Fairly slim change of that I'd have though. I checked for a hiss and I don't think I know what a broadband hiss would sound like compared to a normal background noise on the phone line.
