...Something (reposted) by a friend) appeared on my facebook page about airport being evacuated 11:15am yesterday Since nothing has appeared in the media (which something would if it had any truth in it given the current sensitivity re terrorism and all that) I suppose it is false news Unless there is a news blackout (pointless as there are 000s of posts on social media) it must be malicious postings and I cannot understand what people who do that sort of thing get out out of it. EDIT: Found it on BBC Regional. Obviously not worthy of mention on main pages (unless they are trying to reduce the exposure on main media for potential terrorist acts as policy) Suspicious package apparently.
Bag found in Terminal 3....evacuated . Not terror related. Flights diverted to terminals 1 and 2 https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...posal-experts-carry-out-controlled-explosions Sounds like nowt more sinister than a lost bag and on the ball security.
Intereresting how after a n incident involving a "series of controlled explosions"t a major UK airport (albeit Terminal 3) BBC were not all over it on main news. (especially after recent events in Manchester) You can bet if it had been London Gatwick, Stansted, City or Heathrow they would have been.
Agree with that but BBC in particular pounce on anything remotely linked to terrorism these days gete reported. Given a) it was Manchester airport , b) full evacuation of terminal, c) controlled explosions carried out it seems strange that BBC didn't mention anything at all on National news. Hopefully the hysterical over-reaction we seem to get with every incident is at an end.
