    Im confused by the description of the attackers of being either european or asian. It's about as vague as you can get and strange considering the stereotypical indian neither looks nor sounds like your stereotypical european

    Sorry I meant to say asian not indian, it was probably just the image I had in my head. I just find it odd that the polices description is so vague as surely your relation gave a better description of their nationality than that judging by what you said the other day

    The area around bottom end of Summer Lane & Peel Street is fast becoming a no go area after dark. Twice recently on Saturday nights me and the missus have been subject of threatening situations. A couple of weeks ago we passed a gang of young men at the bottom of Summer Lane and one of them started to follow us very closely even crossing the road when we did and stopping if we did. I considered challenging him but was aware that his mates were probably close by and you just don't know what some people are capable of. We walked up Shambles Street and fortunately a few people were knocking around and eventually he crossed back to the other side. It was pretty unnerving.
    Then last Saturday we were coming off Shambles Street onto Summer Lane, near Sparrow Park, and a guy in a black hooded jacket who looked to be Eastern European tried to deliberately barge into me. I swayed out the way and we briskly walked away without looking back until we were at onto Dodworth Road. He was still stood there staring at us. It freaked the missus out good and proper. Definitely not walking in that area again at night.

    Sparrow park is a no go after dark. There's been a few get jumped up summer lane pissed up walking home by folk hiding in the dark

    Totally agree I used to walk that way home from midweek matches but I am starting to think twice. I live up
    Shaw lane and I am getting more concerned about the amount of **** that goes on at the townend.

    We lived down near the petrol station on Summer Lane and the area was going downhill when we moved out 2 and a half years ago. One of the big problems was all the scum of society living in that place that was the old Barnsley Baths. There's plenty of bedsits around Dodworth Road too with some a fair share of dodgy people living in them.
