not 100% but when I got my ipod, I was able to 'import' my wma files and itunes automatically converted them to itune files, whatever they're called...
some of my current itune music has been directly transferred from windows media.. don't know if it helps to know that!?

did the same for me but i've got some stuff i've just downloaded via bitorrent and its in wma file only. tried setting default player as windows media then back to itunes (converts existing mp3s to wma and back again) but it won't convert the new ones cheers for the response though(Y)
There's a program called CDEX that does it It's free but it's really un-user friendly. Do a google for it and see if you can get to grips with it.
If all else fails use total recorder "play" the WMA file using windows media player but via the total recorder software - with the output in mp3 format. You can play in silent mode for faster conversion Its share ware - I think around £12 or so availlable from high criteria. but just google total recorder for the download
If you still need an Audio converter to ...... ... convert any other music files, try this little beauty.
Easy to use and just about covers all types of files.
http://www.computeractive.co.uk/vnunet/downloads/2128754/cheetah-audio-converter
and it's free!
