I've been told by shop assistants (Apple shop, Vodafone shop) that it isn't, but does anyone know different? I get Sky Sports 1 and 2 free on my Vodafone contract and while it is ok watching it on the iPhone 6 I'd rather attach the phone to the TV or computer screen. Has anyone tried this with any success?
I use a Lightning Digital AV Adapter from I bought from a Apple Store for about £40. Plugs into the charging point of your phone then transmits through an HDMI cable.
Yes defiantly same was as croftonred explained I watched the u21s from bt sport wile away on business in an hotel room p Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks I will look into that. The two guys that I consulted didn't know what they were talking about then? I'm just thinking with The Ashes coming up it would be good to see It on a big screen without paying Sky for the privilege
POR, with the cable I explained about you can view anything from the IPhone. It just transmits whatever the phone is showing, whether it be the locked screen, main menu, photo or video. But I've heard bad experiences about buying cheaper ones of ebay so I think paying the extra £10/20 from the apple store is worthwhile in my opinion.
I think RyhillTyke is right when it comes to Sky Sports/ Sky Go. Sky have disabled outputting the video via a HDMI adapter and also via AirPlay using an Apple Tv. (Unless this has changed recently). I think if you jailbreak the iPhone/iPad it might be possible but sky also put in protection to try and stop this. Most other apps work fine as well as mirroring the iPhone/iPad screen via a HDMI adapter or Apple TV
Sounds like the kind of story I heard from the dealers. I would be really surprised if I COULD view my Sky content on an external monitor. Suppose what I need is the definitive answer from someone who has done what I want to do
It *definitely* wasn't possible. Plenty of threads on various forums of people who've tried. Can't imagine they will have changed it recently.
Thanks for that. Wish I had opted for the bigger version of the iPhone 6 now. Hardly use it for making phone calls so a mini tablet version would have made more sense.
