Anyone know if its ok to wash cars when it is hot and sunny without causung any damage (to the car). someone once told me years ago that it was bad for the paintwork, but cannot remember why, or whether it was even true.

    Any thoughts/comments

Should only wash it in a shady area in this weather...

what is the consequence of doing it in sunlight, or going to one of these places where the albanians allcrowd round your car and do it for £4

Is you wash it when it's hot/bright sunlight, it means the cleaning stuff will dry on the car before it's rinsed/chamoid off, therefore leaving water marks, and on a dark car, looks a bloody mess!
