Last October I was on holiday in Bridlington. All week there was a beer festival in Wetherspoons, and although not normally a beer drinker, I tried many different beers. The best of which was called Strawberry Fields. Not surprisingly, there was a pleasant taste of strawberry in it - and I found it much more palatable than normal ale.

Unfortunately, I have never seen this served anywhere since. Anyone know if this can be purchased from anywhere locally? Even if only in a can from a supermarket.

    Cheers (raiseaglass)

If I knew what serious meant then I'd come up with a smart arse comment, or something.

A man of my own heart

Love my real ale and strawberry fields is great stuff, its brewed by Batemans mate. Bit syrupy if its pulled wrong but a nice beer.

Just having a nice glass of WPA right now before i go 5 a siding hehe!

If you like Strawberry Fields mate, try Batemans Dark Lord.

PS - I doubt you'll find it in many supermarkets although Morrisons may have it. ASDA certainly wont.

Right, now unless Batemans sell it directly I highly doubt it. I'm part of CAMRA and have sampled this at many a beer festival but it's a specialty beer. It's very very unlikely you will find it in a supermarket/shop (thats my guess however) and real ale HARDLY ever comes in cans mate lol, its either pumped straight from the casket or bottled.

    A few facts about pubs

26.6% of pints are more than 5% short measure

Short measure costs consumers £481 million a year, or over £1.3 million a day

Pubs serve customers 208 million more pints than they buy in

    And it's crap beer aswell.

Just thought i'd share those with you for no reason whatsoever.

Try" Big In Booze" Horbury Rd Wakey

They have a good selection of real ales and normally do some Batemans stuff.

    Hi NP.
I too love Strawberry Fields. I drank it earlier on this year. It was on in Wetherspoons in Wombwell. Delicious. I always try it when I see it is on. Bateman's also do a banana one which is even nicer than the Strawberry Fields! I am 99% certain you can only get it from the cask. You might like to try some of the Belgian flavoured lagers - the cherry one is very pleasant.
Strawberry Fields doesn't appear very often and when it does it usually appears spring/summer.

Hi Tina, cheers for that. I would try the banana, but unfortunately, I cant stand banana! Last night I went to Asda and was looking around the beer selection. I picked up a bottle of this Belgian Cherry stuff. May have that when I get home tonight. I also bought a Bateman's XXXB or something, Bishop's finger, and summat else. I'll keep looking for the Strawberry Fields.....

Good luck love. Just bear in mind that the Belgium fruit beer does taste very different to Strawberry Fields. Some Landlords got really fed up of the S F because it 'flavoured' their pipes and it took a lot of cleaning to get rid of it.

It only appears now and then and you have to be in the right place at the right time to get lucky
