Anyone know what the bypass is like from Darfield to broomhill and then off towards the M1?

It sometimes floods halfway down the darfield bypass (no idea what its called) and then under the bridge at brampton.

Heavily flooded at Morrissons towards the M1. Traffic chocker to about the Hoyland Industrial Estate on the dual-carriageways. Moving very, very slowly. Just been up there to see the lie of the land 'cos our lass is on the M1 trying to get to mine in Wombwell 'cos Darton is forty-thousand leagues under the sea, apparently...

If the M1 forms any part of your plans

forget it - especially southbond. Just come northbound from Catcliffe and southbound tailback went way beyond Doddeth. Miles and miles of traffic going absolutely nowhere.

    Yep

About half an hour ago I came down the M1 from Birdwell to Dodworth and through tarn to Ardsley. Not bad at all. Southbound's a different kettle of fish all three lanes blocked due to an accident near junction 32.

It's open but you won't get on southbound - completely gridlocked down beyond Catcliffe.

    Northbound is OK.

    Thanks lads...

She's on the motorway now anyway, somewhere between Dodworth and Birdwell so there ain't much can be done about that but I heard a rumour Junction 36 was closed which could've really screwed things up!!!

    Thanks again...

Just managed to avoid the southbound tailback

Came off at Jct37 at 5:40 and the queue was just south of the sliproad to come off....however M62 from Halifax was a nightmare - took me a hour and half before I was on M1.
