I'm stuck at Royston with a 5 pm finish. Last time it flooded, I was able to get home (via Cundy Cross, Shafton, bypass etc) before it flooded by the Bridge pub (all other routes were flooded). Anyone know what its like at the moment. I'm trying to decide whether I need to waste half a day holiday just so i can get home whilst I can

im in the same boat mate . . .

or at least i will be unless this rain stops :D you see what i did there.

anyway from what i've heard is that, stairfoot roundabout is flooded, the bridge is flooding, pit street is already closed. comeing through the valley seems the only way home for me at the mo, but with a name like "the valley" i can see that flooding soon as well again.

Looks like nobody on here is on 'the flood plane' to help you. I would be safe and leave while you have chance Royston could be 'cut off' soon.

    OK at the moment

Just heard from family that stairffot RA is ok, got from Gawber to Darfield in about 20mins, but it could be bad in a hour or so.

Your problem could be asda at wakefield road or cundy cross RA!!!

    Get ready

Classic flood conditions have prevailled now, steady drizzle for days following existing flooding. Rain set to get heavier at tea time falling on waterlogged catchment. The **** will hit the fan tonight big style if the forecasts are anything to go by.Was told by our consultant that last weeks flood level was a 1 in 150 year event (dunno how they work that one out) and it would not surprise me if it neared or exceeded that in the next 16 hours.Looks like traffic chaos around town this tea time.
