Cov boards says he is negotiating a severence payment, radio sheffield reporeting deal had fallen through. histrionics on here...(?) has it fallen through or what?!
Won't know until Monday, will he lower his demands?,will we cave in to his ?,was there ever a deal at all ?
According to todays Daily Mirror, Mifsud will not be coming to Oakwell as he was asking for too much cash. (another one) but Jamal Campbell Ryce will be moving to Reading for £1m. That should help us to stay in the Championship.
Mark Stokes is reporting it should be sorted on Monday. It seems we have agreed a fee with Coventry, agreed terms on wages with Misfud, but he wants a payoff from Coventry. If he gets a payoff it will be win/win/win. Us: Get a player currently on 8K to take a wage cut. Misfud: Joins a club who actually wants him and doesn't have to worry about the next few years. Coventry: Get an unwanted player off the wage bill who's on a lot of cash.
I can't see that. We are already taking an unwanted player on 8K a week off their hands. Misfud will be saying he's accepting a paycut with us and for doing so he will want Coventry to pay him a percentage of what he's going to miss out on by not staying there until the summer.
If they want shut I'm sure they will pay as it would be far less than the wages they are already paying him!
I reckon that will be the problem. Mifsud will be wanting about 150k to severe his contract early at Cov. If they won't pay it he will want it from us. Either in lump sum or as an increased wage. Will they pay it? Will we? Far from a done deal yet.
Unwanted? He plays regularly so although he doesn't get on with the management he is still part of their 1st 11. Why should they in effect pay his wages up for the rest of the season and lose him when they could just carry on paying his wages and keep playing him. The difference in cost will be minimal.
out injured today according to sky sports news or does that mean he his definatley leaving, i wonder if jcr will be left out today that will tell a story.
I hope that any JCR cash will go on McGoldrick .... I hope that we don't sell JCR and not use a decent amount of the money on quality replacements. Having seen Cox's goal v Walsall, he moves even higher up my list of top-quality srikers. Both would be nice and a great investment for the future. I think the McGoldrick deal could happen, but would cost nearly a million of the JCR cash. I think Swindon will want to keep Cox, but money talks and I would think he might come if we can meet Swindon's transfer demands.
