One possible reason could be now we are in the Championship, the academy has to have coaches, management etc that have passed the appropriate babdges!? May be wrong, but sure I heard this mentioned a while back.

    He might have got them.

    Hopefully he will find another club to take him on. Top bloke from the times I have met him, and can tell a joke or two!

    Absolute top bloke. Doubt he wanted to leave the club he loves. I would say he might have a had a difference of opinion with a few big wigs, it certainly isnt his lack of ambition or badges, he has an abundance of both.

    we dont produce enough young players that develop into first team REGULARS, there is only Kay in the last 5 years or so

    RE: What about austin

    regulars? austin is 2nd choice across the backline, and tonge is too for RB he is 3rd choice and CM they play Kay there instead when we are short, although I think Tonge is going to be a top player, hope he gets some starts in CM this year, could have a right season

    No Barnsley defender made more appearances than Austin last season

    Austin = 45

    Kay = 45

    Reid = 40

    Hassell = 36

    Tonge = 31

    Carbon = 28

    You really have to consider our most played defender in a promotion season to be a regular dont you?
