Was on a metered water supply when in business in Kent. If the tap dripped it could cost me an extra £15..This was in the 1980's. I would give metered water supplies a very wide berth.
numptie that had house before me got one installed whilst house was on market. Apparently he had 6 months after installation to change his mind, but once the house was sold the new owner lost the right (even if within the 6 months). Try and keep usage low and have a quarterly bill of about £80 (3 bed detatched with 2 adults/1 child). not sure what the equivalent water rates would be.
Council rented If you have a water meter and are in a council property then call your impact officer as if the water board didnt have their permission to fit it then its illegal for them to do so
Couldn't agree more mate. BTW, i'm currently in a coucil property but had a meter fitted a few years ago now. Due to move out soon and didn't have permission from them to get the meter.
Have you ever been a 1100 ltr underground rainwater saving tank with diverter and pump down from £15 I'm not bothered about anything.
Bloke next door pays about £400 I pay £17 per month on a meter. Seems like a good deal to me. And I'm not shy with the old hose pipe either.
RE: I'd just like to emphasise how relaxed I am about everything. As I said, totally relaxed so I can let you have the last word. If you really want to.
