Especially Ostersund and Järpen. I'm thinking about going, primarily to visit a restaurant that I want to try out, but was wondering if there was much to do, aside from just absorbing the natural beauty of the place. Thanks in advance.
Been to Stockholm. Cracking city. Set across a series of islands. Boat trips out to beaches too. Was belting weather when we were there. Pricey for a stag do though!
Tapas place in Glasgow that does 6 dishes for £5. let me know if you fancy it, you can save yourself £175.
Yeah been a few times, not the places you mention though. Vasteras a few times for me. Not a big fan of Sedish food personally and expensive.
Flown into Ostersund a couple of times to Ski in Åre. There used to be direct flights from Heathrow. I think they've stopped now. Didn't go into Ostersund town though. Åre is an hours drive / bus ride from the airport. It has great scenery / countryside with the country's highest hills / mountain and a large lake (which you can walk on in the winter). In the summer it's ideal for walking and down hill mountain biking - you can take bikes up the mountain on the ski lifts. I think the town has it's own website - or try Skistar - Åre. It has a selection of decent hotels, bars and restaurants. We stayed in self catering apartments. In the winter there are also skidoo trips and husky sledding trips. The people are really polite and friendly and all speak perfect English ( with American accents - they watch too much NCIS and CSI). It's not cheap for eating and drinking though.
You're going to visit a restaurant? I feel guilty now because I was invited to a do at a restaurant in Northampton and I made up an excuse not to go because I couldn't be arsed with the travel.
