    I've got an image

Which I need to enlarge without ruining the quality of the pic, plus I'm trying to fit some text in on it.

    RE: I've got an image

    Hmm.

Have you considered suing a free package dtp such as Serif Page Pluis SE: http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/PagePlus/default.asp

I use it all the time. You can drag your image into a document, resize it and add text to your hearts content. It's easy to use. Give it a try....

BTW, you can't really "blow up" an image without affecting the quality. You will just have the same number of "original pixels" scattered over a larger area. The software merely "extrapolates" by guessing what the extra pixels would be. The more you increase the size of the image, the more noticeable this will be.

    Picture enhancement.

I have not found one that will improve the picture resolution. Enhancement yes but to make low resolution picture higher is nigh impossible.

You can live trace it in Illustrator and the resolution can be increased but the quality suffers.

There are some free programs available for picture just google 'free desk publishing'
