Just been for a free 2 hour assessment with an IAM instructor up here, because he's a personal friend.

They don't half expect a lot!! Should be Institute of Pedantic Motorists!!

All in all very enjoyable to have my abilities tested.

Anyone on here done the same before(car/bike)?

I only passed my test last Friday, but I've been riding on the road for 2 years on my provisional licence.

So, I'm fairly inexperienced still, and I know I'm no way near a perfect rider, and I still do make the odd mistake here and there.

Today was a great help, and a great challenge, it really highlighted my inexperience...nothing major but just small pointers.

But saying that, as I am currently looking at purchasing a Kawasaki ZZR 600, which makes over 100bhp and has a top speed of nearly 160mph, one mistake on that could be all I need to total myself.

I'd definitely recommend the training to anyone. Personally, I'm going to save up the money to do a full course with IAM once I have my new bike on the road.
