When setting my squad numbers up it would only allow me to have 3 non-EU players in the squad, however, I'm pretty sure that the ruling should be that you can have as many in the squad as you want but only 3 allowed in the match day team (including subs).

Put some of them in your B team

As long as a player has a squad number he can play for any of the 3 teams, A, B, or C.

Its the most annoying thing about the Spanish league, I was Real Madrid and won the league 5 years in a row, Champions League 3 Times, Uefa Cup once, Spanish Cup 4 Times, and every other stupid euro/world club competition, seems a lot easier than the english league

    Cheers for that

Just moved to Deportivo, they had 9 non-EU players, 4 I had no problem putting on transfer list but the other 5 are all decent players and only reason I could chop 2 was because i wasn't short of cover in those positions but if possible I'd like to keep them. It does make it more difficult looking for players as an Argentinian I'd bought at Barnsley and wanted to try and sign I had to decide against.
