Be warned All the cheap compacts suffer from '' shutter lag '' unless you get deep into the workings via the on-line manuals and if you are not into photography these will not be helpfull anyway. If you will be taking basic stills / scenery they will be OK in auto mode. If the light aint perfect use flash and go into the settings and set the flash to the strongest you can, the logic being, that if you over expose its easier to rectify using software than if you under expose ( that's assuming an 100 quid camera hasn't got a flash that can cause wash out ) . After that bit of waffle, whatever camera you get, obtain it as soon as poss, and use it a much as you can and experiment with it before you go away then you will probably come back with some good shots. Have a good holiday, and remember the best memories are in your mind and not on a photograph.
