stayed in millenium broadway right next to times square - very nice and close to the action. http://www.millenniumhotels.com/millenniumnewyork/index.html booked through a 3rd party but cant remember the site.
RE: why should anyone want to go to America i enjoyed it it new york - even though i was ill at the same time - nasty flu bug. Got engaged there too so good memories.
RE: why should anyone want to go to America Drove down the Californian coast last year, best holiday I've ever had...been to Florida a couple of times, wouldn't go back.....went to New York 10 years ago, will definitely go again in the next few years....
RE: getting engaged a good memory sounds like uve been on the shitty end of a woman..... sit on the couch and let it all out.. you'l feel much better.
My advice to you would be that there is no need to book a 4-star hotel cos you're hardly ever in your room. We stayed at the Westin just off Times Sqaure and it was stunning but really no need to pay for that class of hotel when you're in New York
I stayed at the Affinia Dumont, a five minute walk from the Empire State Building, little pricey but if you are not able to afford to go often a little luxury is good. Food reasonable price and room service quick...... You can get cheaper but hey its NYC.
For anyone wanting cheap accommodation... I can vouch for the Park View Hotel located on the corner of Central Park North and Lenox Avenue ($69). Big, clean and funky. http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-364898-park_view_hotel-i and this one looks great for the price ($32). http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-14825418-jazz_on_harlem-i;_ylt=AhocBo7AgKhNIU6yZWsv8uniphQB Staying up in Harlem is decent. I've stayed somewhere very close to that (if not the same pre-renovation). It was $17 back then. Bargain. True, I had to share my room with two German girls and two French girls but oh the hardships! Some decent cafes nearby for a grits breakfast too.
