anyone recommend a decent laptop for around £500

    Ordered 5-6 Dell's in past year (friend's, family & neighbours - [Quidco commision ;) ] and never had a problem. Normally when you order them they give you a lead time. All Dells are built to order.

    Sometimes, if the system you want is extremely popular, ie. it's that damn cheap it's probably a missprice - Then they have been known to cancel your order.

    Currys are doing a Samsung for 399 reduced from 529, got one for our young un yesterday. It's decent, has 2gb of ram and 160gb hard drive.
