<h3 class="headline">BARNSLEY FOOTBALL CLUB STATEMENT </h3> <p align="center"></p> BARNSLEY Football Club are appealing for information from supporters following a coin throwing incident at Oakwell during our match with Sheffield Wednesday FC on Saturday December 30, 2006.</p> The incident occurred in the second half of last week's South Yorkshire derby and, again, concerned supporters in the Gangway One area of the Enterprise Stand and has been included in the referees report to the Football Association.</p> It is not the first time an incident concerning that section of the stadium has been reported by the match official this season and the Club are likely to face severe censure from the Football Association as a result. The Club could be heavily fined, docked points or even forced to close that section of Oakwell for forthcoming matches.</p> Barnsley Football Club are currently examining CCTV footage of the area and are hopeful those persons responsible will be identified and they can expect to be banned indefinitely from Oakwell.</p> The Club are appealing for any information from supporters which can help in this matter. A Sheffield Wednesday fan said it came during the celebration of the 3rd (MacLean) goal and could be clearly seen on their highlights video.
I saw one of the coins being thrown onto the pitch and continued to watch the situation as one of Wendy players showed it to the referee but I sit right at back of Ponty gangway three area and could only say it came from somewhere gangway one area of Ponty, which club already know.
Why can't the stewards ever see any incidents.They should be watching the spectators not the friggin match- and why aren't they concentrated on the hot spots instead of swanning around the East upper?
