The trouble with the 2 Barnsley fans yesterday we were ij row G back of goals and man at back of us would,nt sit down they all tried talking to him but he looked spaced out, then this fellow gave him his last warning quote= if tha dont sit darn tha going darn after a couple of minutes of still standing the bloke at back came over the seat and threw a punch at him I thought God if that had connected he would have really hurt him. Stewards took them both out wonder if any arrest took place, just so glad he did,nt land that punch

I saw them being thrown out, they were escorted out just past me. I did wonder what had gone on cause I could see a lot of activity in the police control box just before it happened.

It is normally the 17-20 year olds that I have a problem with at away games, I'm sure they are nice lads when they haven't had a skin full of beer but when they have they just don't have any respect.

Although to be fair, at away games I've found more or less everyone is stood up all the time anyway, I do always have a look behind me to make sure they are also stood up and I'm not blocking someone's view. If most are sat down, a little tap on the shoulder to the person in front who is stood up and a polite word in their ear normally makes them apologetically sit down, there are some tw*ts who don't give a f*ck though I suppose.

We were stood up the entire game. Everybody around us was. It seemed everyone in the stand was.

never had a problem with the bairns. They don't show up to most away games to be fair. I stand up all the time at away games. If ya wanna stand, go to the back. If ya wanna sit, go to the middle and the front. I'm sure that's an unpopular statement for the BBS Police

Some fans who came in wheelchairs commented on the coach back that they didn't really get to see any of the match because of the constant standing. Gotta say, I did feel a bit guilty after hearing that.

At least if people stand up in the Ponty, the disabled bays can still see the pitch

    Whose fault is it then?

Football stadiums are designed in a way that everyone can see the pitch, so long as we all sit down. Like we're supposed to do.

I have no problem standing up all game, it doesn't piss me off, I don't get in arguments with people in front of me, but let's not pretend we're being anything other than massively selfish. When we all stand up often people in wheelchairs can't see the game, kids can't see the game, the elderly and infirm who can't stand for 45 minutes at a time can't see the game. When we all stand up we spoil the experience for a fair number of people. If we all sat down we'd all be able to enjoy it. But we do it any way because we're selfish bleeders who never think of anyone else. And it is all our fault.

Re: Whose fault is it then?

I saw this incident, a couple of rows in front of me in the "lower tier" - very important where it is as people in this area tend to be sitters rather than standers, thats what I find at away matches anyway.

Several people asked the youth (between 18 & 20 I am guessing) to sit down! Even people he was with shouted at him as they probably knew what was going to happen.

His retort "I have paid my fiver so can do what I want"

Several people shouted the stewards over but in the meantime the punch was thrown.

To be honest if the punch had landed, he would have ended on the pitch, and deserved it unfortunately.

Most people including myself, stood when we were on the attack in the second half, but then sat down again.

The lad who threw the punch was admitted back into the ground.

Just telling it how I saw it and the opinions are my views only!
