Haven't read the details in full, but Leeds Council are the main objectors to the new Trinity ground at Newmarket, Wakefield (enquiry held over last three weeks).

However, when Leeds United and the council put their World Cup bid together, they included this new ground as a training camp for one of the teams playing at Elland Road! If we'd have won the rights to host the World Cup, then they wouldn't have any objections, but as it stands, they insist a ground can't be built on the empty land.

Leeds - scum whatever way you look at it

It is a big development the Rugby Ground being just 4% of it.

Wont get to know if granted while in the spring even though inquiry ends Friday.

It's a massive complex, and has so many positives going for it (jobs, area, environment, sport in the city, etc.).

Just find it completely out of order that the very council that are objecting to the development, included that same development in their World Cup bid.
