Anyone seen this. Buy out clauses dont seem to hold

    He's spot on with it, contracts aren't worth the paper there written on when it comes to football, Don't particularly like liverpool but well done to them for making a stand, it's a shame more clubs don't do it

    So surely Barnsley could have done that with hammill or whatever

    I'm sure they could have but the difference is suarez didn't go full out to enforce the clause so liverpool stood firm, hammil wanted to go so forced the club to honour the clause

    Yeah a £40 million buy out clause on Hammill or Vaz Te would have made sence.

    I think that goes back to the words of the day: backbone and balls. Liverpool had some, we didn't.

    Interesting read that Hemsworth, cheers. However, I would imagine if Suarez had been so desperate to leave and took Liverpool to the courts, he would have won. He wanted Champions League football, but I think he likes Liverpool, so eventually just gone on with it.
