..........I know I am (titanic) As things stand we are going to be thrown in the deep end again at the start of the season Even if new players come in they will need to have time to settle Although we have some quality at the club I dont think there's enough of them So at this moment in time I dont think we can hit the ground running with the players we have got Its a vital time for Barnsley and SD - If things stay the same, I can see a few losses at the begining of the season and then the spot light will fall on SD which in turn will cause more stress at the club S)
im getting concerned cause its gonna be the same old, we'll buy some players just b4 the **** wed game start the season off crap and davey will be saying to be patient n wait for the players gell which if he had pulled his finger out n bought the players a month ago we wunt have that problem!!!!
Its not about SD pulling his finger out I'm sure that he would have had the players in by now if he could have But we haven't got the quality in numbers that this division demands So the delays in bringing new players in is going to make the team weak at the start of the season Even if players do come in now they just haven't got the time to fit into the style of the team And if thats the case the team is likely to lose more than it wins Which under the circumstances, SD being under pressure from the fans, is likely to throw even more pressure onto the club
after what davey put in the chronicle other week when he was saying to give him a chance i expected him to have gone in all guns blazing in the transfer market to show the fans he means business. he mentioned he knew we need a natural goal scorer n only person he buys is a non league player for the future?
we,ve all being saying R I P to Bobby Robson, he only brought in.......... 14 players in 13 yrs at Ipswich... and did'nt they do well whilst he was there..... He was a firm believer in the grow your own policy
Disagree I think that it is about davey not pulling his finger out. In almost every transfer window since he came to the club it has been far far too late when he has finally come out and said things like 'im going to watch a few players to see if theyre what i need' that is poor in my opinion, transfer windows are for signing players, not for identifying them and that is the problem this summer, only a few weeks ago he said that he would be trying to identify players in certain positions. They should have been identified before souza etc were released.
Which is all well and good but we have NO cover at centre back and davey was the one that got shut of atkinson. You cant have grow your own when you give your own to someone else
Grow yer own.................thats a laugh What have we produced.................NOWT !!! We open an academy to a fanfare of trumpets that we have got the whole singing and dancing academy with all the best facilities And whats it produced.....................FA And before anyone starts talking up the Lasurus brigade...........the latest batch of young uns have everything to prove yet. Lets wait and see about these before jumping to conclusions
He "identified" Hammill before the end of last season But Liverpool wanted to see how pre-season went. Which bit of that is Davey's fault? I don't think it is possible to fully identify targets until the transfer window develops. A first team regular may suddenly become available if his club signs a better player for his position. One transfer often provokes another as a club seeks a replacement. All sorts of things happen which Davey or any other manager cannot control. Just about every club signs players late on transfer deadline day. It's an exciting time but quite normal.
What I want to know is How do you know exactly what Davey's plans were? How do you know he hadn't already identified targets? How do you know he's been doing his best but deals have fallen through out of his control?
R.Tiverton reckons there will be a big box rolled onto the pitch jsut before kick off tomorrow and out of it will pop four new signings. He has unshakeable faith in Simon Davey who he says does not break his promises. I sent him to bed early and told him not to be silly.
