Got turned away at 8:45. First 150 in the queue had pink raffle tickets and were guaranteed to be served, anyone after that was wasting their time according to the steward. Shutters were coming down at 12:00 with raffle ticket holders inside.
Question I ask is - at that rate, how the bloody hell are they going to sell all the ST tickets before next Saturday.
Weekend is the only time I can get down so why are they open only till 12:00 today and shut on Sunday. No extra staff either to cope with the demand -sureley they could have had a couple of agency temps for a week.
Tuesday night will be just as bad. People will come straight after work hoping they can get sorted prior to the QPR game.
How the hell are they going to sell QPR tickets or Sheff Wed tickets from the same bloody queue - absolute chaos. When will they ever learn?
For anyone who can get there in the day it will be Ok by about next Thursday/Friday but what the hell are us poor regular day workers supposed to do?

No matter how many times the club cocks up the ticket situation things never improve. The solution is simple. It should ALWAYS be 1 ticket per STH. Then it should go down in priority order to holders of match ticket stubs.
Spot on mate. the ST holders are the one's having to queue for hours whilst the non-ST holders keep snug.
I'm struggling with the maths here .... if we managed to sell 6000 Liverpool tickets to 3000 fans by the end of the first day, why are we apparently struggling to sell home tickets to considerably less than say 6000 ST holders by day three, with the prospect of more queues next week?
because some people are going into the box office and arguing the toss with the staff about where, or their mates they wanna sit.... apparently there were some real d*ckheads in there on thursday who carried on from the last round giving the staff a load of stick, theres no need for it, plenty of time for everyone to get tickets, and yet some still want to cause a scene..why?????????????????
I am in the same boat. If I can't get served next saturday, I can't go. Absolute Mickey Mouse this is. I don't understand why they got rid of the system when you could tick a box on your season ticket form and get the tickets posted to you. That way, all ST holders get their tickets regardless of where they live. Non ST holders can queue up in the cold and rain. There is no way I am sending in my credit card details without any security whatsoever. I am resigned to watching it on the box, but the club will lose £1000 of revenue next year if they don't get their backside in gear. Cant the suporters society take this up with the club - it is a joke - I work with fans of other clubs and they are falling about laughing - even worse when one of them already has a 'part timers' ticket obtained by a non working ST holder who is free to queue up for hours. By the way - if they can only serve 50 people per hour assuming a 7 hour day, that makes 350 a day. I have to hope these 350 are buying wads of other ST holders seats too otherwsie it doesn't stack up. They can't get us all through the door by next Sat. Muppets the lot of them. S)
I was in the same situation - I'm away working all next week and thought that, if I don't get the tickets today then I have to take my chance next Saturday, and should the the queues be massive again next saturday there was a realistic chance of missing out altogether again - so I resolved to get out of bed this morning and was outside the club for half past six. I was determined that I wasn't going to miss out again, but, in the 21 Century, there should be a way of putting a system in place that means I shouldn't have to queue for a ticket for 3 hours. However, it's done now, and I must say that we had a good laugh in the queue this morning and the time flew quite quickly - thanks to those around me for their company.
Did they stop doing the cup ticket subscription for season ticket holders this year? Where, when you bought your season ticket, there was a form you could leave with them with card details and you automatically got sent home cup tickets?
They Handed Out 200 Raffle Tickets This Morning The problem is that our official ***** said box office was open 9-12, when it should have said that only 200 raffle tickets would be handed out and once they are gone, you cannot be served. Turning away loads of people, before the box office was even open (to the hours it said on official *****) is the problem.
If I was to hazard a guess I'd say they withdrew that facility because there wasn't enough uptake from the season ticket holders for them to feel it was worthwhile. It was something that I always used for each cup competition but I wasn't going to bother using it for the League Cup this season as, based on the teams we put out last season & the ones before, we were basically using it as a run out for the reserves. I'd still have subscribed for the FA Cup though.
RE: They Handed Out 200 Raffle Tickets This Morning They should have been open all day. But as they weren't, there was no point continuing to let people queue up once there was already the maximum number of people they could serve stood there.
fecking typical The Barstewards were telling all us who arrrived early to **** off cos we wouldn't get served and then Johnny-come-lately joins the back of the queue and gets his tickets. fecking typical.
No they didn't they handed out 150 based on their ability to serve about 50 an hour through three terminals.
I was number 72 and got served just before 10.30, halfway through the morning, so they had the throughput spot on.
Why only three terminals, and why only 150 people served in an entire weekend is anybody's guess.
My guess would be that nothing's changed since the Liverpool fiasco and the general management of the Club is as incompetent as ever.

RE: If I was to hazard a guess I'd say that it was too much like hard work so they couldn't be arsed.
What difference if take-up was low? If even 1 fan still wanted it it was one satisfied customer for next to no effort.
The truth is, they haven't got a clue and they couldn't give a ****.
Small minded people happy to sit in their comfort zone - and I'm talking about the management, not the front-line staff who are lions led by donkeys.

150 people served in a weekend? that is to be perfectly honest laughable. The local corner shop serves more than that.
