Forget that ... anyone using Google Earth fantastic application. Zoomable [?] sattelite photos of the earth. Very detailed for lots of places around the world. Not very detailed for Barnsley though ( Cambridge pretty good. Has some great features such as putting the buildings in so you can walk down a street in say New York, London, Seattle etc etc. There is also a Google Moon [for those of you thinking of moving there]. Go on give it a go ... don't know anyone who wasn't at least a little bit impressed.

RE: Forget that ... anyone using Google Earth The Grand Canyon is incredible, it's not a flat image when you pan down it's in 3D.

Yep .... have a friend who has a picture of him and some of his mates in front of a small mountain/hill in scotland. When he put himself in the same position in google earth the profile is incredible similar. Apparently they are now busy get the pictures of the buildings in the States so that when you 'walk' down the streets the buildings will have the same facade. I think they are doing it so that people can do virtual shopping. i.e. walk to Maceys click on the door and go to their website. It impressed the hell out of me ... speed and detail wise
