    Answer = 4240?! :)S)

    Probably one of those trick questions they have on FTN quizcall or whatever it's called. Have you included the Roman Numerals you can see such as I X & V?

    Well yes...

    I worked it out as 90 of course - WRONG said the Mint

    So it must be 590? WRONG said the Mint

    Add all the number in words - 172? WRONG said the Mint.

    4240 - YES says the Mint.

    Proper confused, someone won £9000 with that answer!

    There was definitely no other info - it was on for ages so kept readin it through again...

    A level Maths and a year and a half of degree Maths and I'm well confused here! :pff

    Have you written down the question exactly

    eg does it say 600 or SIX HUNDRED </p>



    As matt says there is a catch but need to know exactly how the question was written</p>

    eg (600-60) divided by/6 could be 540 divided by 0.1666... = 3240</p>

    Yep that's exactly how it was written

    All spelt out in words like that, in capitals.

    Looked at the Roman numerals idea but don't think that adds up.
